"Jonathan Baxter" spent six years in the US Army with the entirety of his service with the 75th Ranger Regiment. Upon his separation, he became a private security contractor and resumed deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. The Ghosts of Babylon was written over the course of his military and civilian deployments to those regions. He continues to deploy to the Middle East.
